TAG is a systems Integrator in Power Infrastructure and Satellite Solutions to large GSM operators in Africa – both for International Gateways and in country networks. TAG has expanded the Customer base to include large corporate and Power Companies across the Continent.
Completed Projects
Below is a selection of some of our completed projects.
TAG SA Completed projects
We work directly with Africa’s largest mobile network operators to provide independant power solutions that operate both GSM and Sattelite infrastructure on the continent.
- 800 Rural development sites – Vodacom DRC
- 40 Rural Deployment sites – Airtel DRC
- 430 Solar hybrid sites – Helios DRC
- 200 RAN Swap sites – Vodacom DRC
- 600 Sites Lithium Battery Swop out – DRC
Pole Mount
An innovative custom design where concealment was paramount.
All In One Pole Mount Solution
Specialized Concealment methods utilized in the design of this 15m telecom monopole solution with a precast foundation which is enclosed by a fiberglass dome housing all the necessary power equipment, RF Equipment and GSM Antennas which are installed at the top of the pole allowing for a aesthetically pleasing structure and reducing the risk of theft.
The poles and the foundation were designed to be easily transportable and deployed in rural areas for straight forward installation with a light crane truck.
Rectifiers
Design, manufacture and assembly of custom rectifiers for specific requirements.
Custom Built Rectifiers
Our Technical department specifically trained in the dimensioning of DC Output power systems designs, manufactures, and assembles custom sized rectifiers aligned with our clients’ specific power requirements. This can lead to reduced delivery timeframes as international shipping or freight is removed from the delivery timelines. These systems are mainly used in Datacenter applications.
The rectifier sizes range from 600A to +3000A
Earth Station
A highly technical project including the construction of a new earth station and re-utilization of the old antenna.
Satellite Earth Station Antenna Hub
Tag did the construction of the South Sudan Earth Station which included relocating a 4.5m antenna to carry the traffic whilst installing the new earth stations switch room, 7.6m antenna and upgrading all the all the remote sites RF equipment. Once the switch and 7.6m antenna was commissioned TAG then migrated all the traffic onto the newly build 7,6m Antenna and reutilised the 4,5m Antenna to create a new link between North and South Sudan.
Solar Station
TAG's key application area with more than 5000 systems deployed across Africa
Pofadder Remote Solar Site
This project involved the design and implementation of a 38kW Solar Array connected to a Delta MPPT controller cabinet for remote off grid application where site access can be blocked for up to 3 months during specific seasons. It coupled with a 10 000Ah Lead Crystal battery pack to allow for 4 Days backup power as well as a 40kVA 3 Phase generator in the event of a PV String failure.
The Solar/Gen/Hybrid application is a key area where our technical team has extensive knowledge with TAG Supplied systems in excess of 5000 deployed across markets such as DRC, Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa, Ghana and Congo to name a few.
Remote low cost
Fast growing networks require low cost infrastructure and TAG's engineers delivered.
Ultra Low Cost Solution
Stories such as Numbi inspires this sort of solution. Awarded to TAG we successfully delivered a full turnkey remote rural solar base station for over 1000 locations in various countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, United Arab Emirates, Lesotho, Mozambique, and South Africa.
Aimed at cost effectively expanding network communication coverage for people who live in deep rural areas, where transportation is challenging and improving security and business opportunities for the local community is a critical necessity.
Individual Projects Completed
800 Rural Telecom Solar Sites – Vodacom Democratic Republic of Congo
TAG was awarded and successfully provided a full turnkey solution to design, supply and install 800 Rural telecom Sites.
